Blogbait – My first summer camp class

Today was the first day of the summer camp. I have enrolled for Indian Instrumental music.

In the special Tabla Class I got a chance to learn ‘Kayeda’ of ‘Teen Taal’ and our tabla teacher showed us a video of Pandit Kishan Maharaj where he played Ganesh Paran on tabla. I was astonished to see it. The two things that touched my heart were- one it’s a blessing to learn tabla from a great teacher as it gives a person a sense of immense pride, and secondly, even when he turned 81 and was a great well-known figure, he asked for everyone’s blessings after listening to ‘Ganesh Paran’. It taught me a lot about our Indian culture. I am blessed to be apart of such a great cultural heritage.
